I am a bookfairy.
I am a lesbian librarian who loves cats and birding, owns many, many books, does not enjoy housework but loves to cook and eat a variety of foods, and prefers to travel by car.
I’m a native of west Michigan, which means I can identify birds like the robin, cardinal, and morning dove by their calls without having to look at them. I like sand dunes and maple trees, and the sound the breeze makes as it filters through the leaves of an aspen tree. Being from Michigan means that I have a birthright to own a car, but pragmatism led me to buy a Toyota. I grew up in a rural area, wandering fields and forests with a big dog by my side. The dog is long gone now, but I still like to wander with my best girl and I have found cats to be the perfect companion animal.
I’ve worked as a typesetter, printer, press operator, bookseller, and librarian. I’m lawful good, so if you ask me what I think about something I’ll tell you. Here’s what you’ll get with me: the real deal, the straight story, the genuine truth. Don’t expect me to beat around the bush. To thine ownself be true is how Shakespeare phrased it. Don’t be a jerk is what I say.
